Sometimes we stumble across some cool finds for weddings (or wedding related celebrations like bridal showers and engagement parties) that we want to share with you. While we don't want to contribute to the 'oooh, I wanna buy that because it's sooo cute' throw-away-culture, we do want to feature fresh, new and unique options for you to check out.
Recently, I spied these gorgeous custom globes from Atlanta, Georgia by new business called: Consider The World. Emily Tuttle creates these one-of-a-kind, acrylic and gold leaf painted globes. They would make a great gift or could add the perfect finishing touch to your office decor, but we love how they can be used as a guest book alternative at weddings!
They offer an awesome way to display the signatures afterwards too, rather than storing your guestbook to gather dust at the bottom of a drawer somewhere, never to be seen again.
We especially love that a portion of the Consider The World's profits are donated to support refugee relief in Syria and Iraq through Preemptive Love Coalition. Win win, right?
Here are just a handful of Emily's beautiful designs, but she is open to creating custom globes for her customers as well.
Finding these awesome guest book alternatives made me curious and I started to look for some other little-known options, which led me to Alisha from Carpenter's Daughter.
U.S. born with an Aussie husband, Alisha is currently calling Adelaide, South Australia home. She began Carpenter's Daughter with her Dad back home in California in 2014 when she was studying in college.
When all of her friends were getting married and she was too cash-strapped to afford fancy gifts, she transformed what they had lying around the house - scraps of wood and nails - into custom signs. Her works of art soon became big hits at her friend's bridal showers and that's when Alisha knew that she needed to start selling them for real.
Now in Australia, she is looking forward to creating some custom signs for Aussie couples. Here are just some of her cool designs.
If you're seeking a sleek, modern piece for your living room, then look no further than Claire Groves from Kookachoo Stationery Design. Claire is one of our contributing wedding experts here at Bridechilla Club and can create a custom print for your reception just like the Love Map below.
The Love Map is a perfect guest book alternative or gift idea for a couple from different parts of the world or who met overseas. It can be made in any colour or size to match existing decor and can be beautifully framed in raw timber like this one by the super talented (and meticulous) Ryan at iSCREAM Picture Framing.
And these ideas (below) are just cool things that I came across on Etsy. Oh, how I lurrrrve Etsy!
We'd love to learn about more unique ideas, so feel free to spam us in the comments below or on our Facebook page with what you're using for your reception.
